Annual Membership Celebration

The Chamber’s Annual Membership Celebration is our signature evening of recognition, connection, and community spirit. Each year, we gather to celebrate the outstanding accomplishments of our local business community and honor the recipients of our most prestigious awards: Citizen of the Year, the Legends Award (presented on special occasions), Ambassador of the Year, and Young Professional of the Year.

This highly anticipated event brings together members and friends from across the business community for an unforgettable evening featuring live entertainment, exceptional food, lively networking, and plenty of fun. It’s a night to reflect on the year’s successes, recognize inspiring leadership, and strengthen the relationships that keep our business community thriving.

Citizen of the Year

The Greater Greenville Chamber annually presents its Citizen of the Year Award to recognize an individual who has made significant contributions to the Greenville-Pitt County community through service, leadership, and dedication  The presentation of this award dates back to 1967, when Dr. Leo Jenkins (sixth chancellor of East Carolina University) was honored as the very first recipient.  The award represents a prestigious recognition by the Chamber of the recipient's commitment and dedication to the advancement of Greenville-Pitt County.

Legends Award

The Legends Award is a special honor given on occasion at the Chamber's Annual Membership Celebration.  Legends Award recipients are citizens whose service to the community has been so significant in civic, economic, political, humanitarian, educational and/or religious activities over a sustained period that the history of Pitt County could not be written without their inclusion.

Ambassador of the Year

An Ambassador is a volunteer for the Chamber who serves as the personal representative of the member and the liaison between the Chamber board, staff, and members. Chamber Ambassadors work to improve communications and continually encourage members to get involved in Chamber programs and events.
