The Intern Experience is a new initiative designed to engage college interns with different facets of the community.  This eight-week program will help them understand how to get plugged in with the city as young professionals while giving interns a chance to meet and network with other interns from companies around Pitt County.  The program will feature one session or activity per week, where interns will enjoy informative guest speakers, networking, and learning more about Greenville and how they can model the engagement in their communities.

The objective of The Intern Experience is to entice our college students to fall in love with Greenville-Pitt County and the companies with which they are interning.  The Chamber of Commerce hopes to help emerging leaders learn more about the community beyond the university experience.  Through the program, they will learn valuable skills to take with them as they transition from college student to young professionals, meet business professionals from a variety of industries and learn about what makes our community unique.

"The Intern Experience has helped us a lot to gain an understanding of what staying in Greenville has to offer, as well as preparation when applying for jobs. This program has been a wonderful experience and has opened many doors. I am highly grateful." - Silas J. James, Randolph-Macon College

Chamber Members - $150 per intern

"The internship experience is something I would recommend to everyone, even if they are not considering living in Greenville post grad. I gained an immense amount of professionalism from this and I think it is one of the reasons I received so many scholarships. I wrote about the experience in my personal statement for law school and talked about it during my Advocacy Fellowship interview. While I already believe I had professional skills, this experience was monumental in recognizing those skills and being able to utilize them. This experience opened my eyes to the opportunities present in the city and how much growth has occurred and is continuing to occur."  Anna Nash - 2021 Participant
