Phillips joins Chamber as Director of Marketing and Communications

Greenville, NC (February 1, 2022) – The Chamber is pleased to announce the newest addition to its staff with the hiring of Lauren Phillips as Director of Marketing and Communications.  In this role, Phillips will be responsible for developing, implementing, and executing all aspects of an integrated marketing plan while working to maintain and enhance the positive image of the Chamber in the Greenville-Pitt County community through active member engagement and outstanding customer service.

“Lauren brings a creative and strategic approach to our marketing efforts that will help raise brand awareness and create a sustainable marketing strategy for continued growth of our organization,” said Trent McGee, president of the Greenville-Pitt County Chamber of Commerce.  “Lauren shares our passion to drive economic growth in the Greenville-Pitt County community and I am confident that her understanding of marketing practices will benefit our members and help maximize our program of work.”

Phillips, a native of Greenville, NC, attended Meredith College in Raleigh, NC where she graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2021 with a bachelor’s degree in exercise and sports science and minor in communications.  Phillips also earned a digital communication certificate via Meredith College’s Digital Communication Program.  Phillips was also a member of the Meredith College volleyball team where she was a two-time defensive player of the year and earned Academic All-Conference USA South honors four times.

Phillips attended J.H. Rose High School in Greenville, NC and helped the Rampants advance to the North Carolina High School Athletic Association 4-A finals as a junior and earned All-Conference honors as a senior.  She is a 2016 graduate of the Greenville-Pitt County Chamber of Commerce’s Teen Leadership Institute.
