101 Room Hilton Garden Inn to be a Key Addition and Tallest Building in Uptown Greenville

GREENVILLE, NC, January 26, 2022 – Co-X Properties, a Division of Co-X Holdings, celebrated the location of its newest hotel venture, the Hilton Garden Inn, with development partner Clarendon Properties, during a groundbreaking ceremony on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at the property located at 419 Evans Street in the Uptown District of Greenville, NC.  Opening summer of 2023, the 101-room property will be the tallest building in Uptown Greenville.  The property is within walking distance to East Carolina University's campus and is nestled in the heart of Greenville, NC’s vibrant and thriving Uptown District.

The venture is led by Paul Adkison and Scott Diggs, both East Carolina University graduates and owners of Co-X Properties.  “We are excited to create this project in Greenville, NC and provide this addition to this growing community’s skyline, visitors and tourists to Uptown and the faculty, students and fans of East Carolina University," Adkison said.  "Partnering with the City of Greenville, and our alma mater on some design and other aspects of the project has been and continues to be a rewarding experience for our partners and us."

Scott Diggs added, “Continuing our support for the community by providing quality accommodations in the Uptown area along with jobs, while partnering with the city, county and ECU is key to Paul and I pushing this project forward.  We look forward to the summer of 2023 when we open our doors for the first time.”

East Carolina University Chancellor, Dr. Philip Rogers, states, “The addition of this new hotel in the Uptown district, with close proximity to ECU, is yet another example of leveraging our local assets to attract new investments. Providing high-quality local accommodations only enhances our position as an attractive destination.”

“We are thrilled to see this hotel construction getting underway,” Greenville Mayor P.J. Connelly said.  "As we continue to make strides in the development of the Uptown District, the addition of a hotel is the next step in continuing our positive trajectory by providing accommodations in the heart of our center city.”
