Two Curtis Media Group stations received top honors during the North Carolina Association of Broadcasters (NCAB) Annual Awards Lunch on Thursday, June 13, 2019, at the Barn at Fearrington Village in Pittsboro, NC. WMGV-FM (V103.3) and WSFL-FM (106.5 WSFL) were both recognized as “North Carolina’s Radio Stations of the Year” and were also recognized as the “#1 Radio Stations for North Carolina Community Involvement.” WMGV-FM and WSFL-FM are among Curtis Media Group’s coastal brands in the Greenville, New Bern, Jacksonville, NC market.
“Our Program Directors are such amazing leaders and our on-air talents are simply the best in the business,” said Joe Peters, general manager for Curtis Media Group (Coastal Carolina). “Our entire radio station staff really came together to work through Hurricane Florence. We all worked in different areas to get the job done. Not only were we able to keep the stations on the air and the public informed [during Hurricane Florence], we served all over eastern North Carolina delivering food, water, and supplies to those in need.”
Curtis Media Group has grown and developed into the largest single-shareholder radio broadcasting company in the country and is currently home to 57 AM and FM radio signals across North Carolina. The NCAB Annual Awards Lunch brings people from various markets and demographics together for the greater broadcast good.
