GREENVILLE, NC (February 13, 2026) — The Greenville-Pitt County Chamber of Commerce, now operating as the Greater Greenville Chamber, celebrated outstanding leadership and dedication to the community at its Annual Membership Celebration, presented by ECU Health, on Thursday, February 12, at Rock Springs Center. The evening’s top honor, the 2025 Citizen of the Year Award, was presented to Brian Floyd, Chief Operating Officer of ECU Health.
Floyd began his career at ECU Health Medical Center as a nurse and, over nearly three decades, has grown into one of eastern North Carolina’s most respected health care leaders. He has served in key executive roles, including vice president of Hospital Operations and president of ECU Health Medical Center, before assuming his current systemwide leadership position.
A longtime resident of the region, Floyd is widely recognized for his commitment to expanding access to high-quality care, particularly in rural communities. Most recently, he was elected chair of the North Carolina Healthcare Association’s 2026–2027 Board of Trustees, further broadening his influence on health care policy and partnerships across the state.
Floyd is the fifty-eighth recipient of the chamber’s Citizen of the Year Award, presented annually to an individual whose service has significantly contributed to the growth, stability, and overall advancement of Greenville and Pitt County.
Additional honors presented during the celebration included the 2025 Ambassador of the Year and Young Professional of the Year awards.
Renee’ Cairns, development director of Building Hope Community Life Center, was selected as the 2025 Ambassador of the Year by her peers in the chamber’s Ambassador Program, a group of volunteers who serve as liaisons between the Chamber’s board, staff, and membership. Cairns is the fifteenth recipient of the award.
Elise Karriker, Realtor/Broker at Legacy Premier Real Estate, received the Young Professional of the Year Award, which recognizes an individual who demonstrates dedication not only to the Young Professionals organization but also to Pitt County through strong leadership, teamwork, and integrity. Karriker is the tenth recipient of the honor. The Young Professionals of Pitt County operate in conjunction with the chamber to connect rising professionals by fostering relationships, encouraging community involvement, and creating opportunities for personal and professional growth.
"We are proud to recognize the outstanding achievements of the 2025 award recipients," said Trent McGee, president and CEO of the Greater Greenville Chamber. "Their dedication, leadership, and commitment to excellence exemplify the values we hold dear and inspire us all to strive for greater impact.”
A highlight of the evening was the unveiling of the chamber’s new name and brand—Greater Greenville Chamber. The refreshed identity reflects a forward-looking vision, deeper regional collaboration, and an ongoing commitment to uniting businesses and citizens to advance prosperity and quality of life.
Additional sponsors of the chamber’s Annual Membership Celebration included Pitt Community College, T.A. Loving Company, Southern Bank, Executive Personnel Group, First Citizens Bank, Greenville Utilities Commission, Inner Banks Media, and the North Carolina Healthcare Association.
