Chamber to Celebrate Small Business in Pitt County

GREENVILLE, NC (July 29, 2020) — The Greenville-Pitt County Chamber of Commerce will host its annual Small Business Awards Event to celebrate small business success in Pitt County.  This year’s event will take place on Wednesday, September 2, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, at Opendoor Church and will be streamed live for guests to watch.

The Small Business Awards Event, presented by First Citizens Bank and the City of Greenville, celebrates the importance of small business in Pitt County and features the presentation of the (2019) Small Business Leader of the Year Award. The finalists for the award are, Ileana Maria Rojas-Bennett, CEO & designer of Maleku Jewelry; Chris Godley, owner of Chris Godley State Farm Insurance; and Carrie Lewis, owner of Pink a Lilly Pulitzer Signature Store. The First Citizens Bank Forever First Customer Service Award will also be presented during the event.

“The Chamber is honored to be able to celebrate our local small business community and everything that they do for the community and economy to make Pitt County a great place to live, work and play,” said Chamber President Kate Teel. “These three finalists are a part of what makes our community unique with the quality products and services they provide. Now, more than ever, it is vital that we continue to support small businesses and through this event, we look forward to strengthening local support.” 

Tickets for the event are $20 and can be purchased online at greenvillenc.org/smallbusinessawards.  A portion ($10) of the ticket fee will be given back to the registrant to use at a participating Chamber member retail store of their choice upon registration.
