Greenville, NC- September is shaping up to be a busy one in Greenville! Along with the start of East Carolina University Pirate football season, Greenville is set to host three large annual state conferences providing our city a wonderful opportunity to showcase the exponential hospitality and infrastructure growth we have experienced in the last few years to over a thousand state and local government professionals from across North Carolina and beyond.

All three conferences will be held in the Convention District at the Greenville Convention Center, which was one of the main selling points of bringing these conferences to Greenville. Following their 2015 expansion and renovation, the 32 acre Greenville Convention Center Campus now features 91,000 square feet of meeting and event space, 36 flexible and spacious breakout rooms, 5 outdoor social areas, and over 400 guest rooms at the onsite Hilton, Hampton Inn, and Holiday Inn properties, as well as many other amenities that make the campus a desirable venue for large conferences.

Additional events are planned for conference attendees to enjoy other areas of Greenville. The host city event for the NC League of Municipalities Conference will welcome attendees to the ECU Murphy Center for an evening of local food and entertainment, and a golf tournament will get people out on the links at Bradford Creek Public Golf Course. APA-NC Conference participants can experience local restaurants and breweries in the Uptown District during a Taste of Greenville nighttime event, while young professionals will have a chance to explore Uptown Greenville attractions on a scavenger hunt focusing on team building and problem solving skills.

“Our entire hospitality community is excited about welcoming several different conferences, as well as ECU Pirate football fans, to Greenville during the month of September,” stated Andrew Schmidt, Executive Director of the Greenville-Pitt County Convention & Visitors Bureau. “Not only will nearly one million visitor dollars flow into the city creating a positive economic impact, but these high profile conferences help to solidify Greenville and Pitt County as a legitimate meeting destination that can compete with the larger cities across our state.”
