an opportunity for chamber members to show their products
and services and to provide an event for member-to-member

Encourage entrepreneurship and provide assistance to

Small Business Leader Award to recognize excellence in
small business ownership.

Provide the opportunity for Chamber members to promote
their businesses to East Carolina University students
through the Annual ECU Merchants Fair.

Support County Commissioners and Board of Education in

recruitment and retention as well as facilities planning.

Support and promote the establishment of the Eastern
North Carolina Cardiovascular Diseases Institute.

unity via Chambers of Commerce of North Carolina’s Eastern

Host a series of “Insight on Issues” to inform chamber
members on critical issues and allow opportunity for
input.

Conduct voter education programs in collaboration with
the League of Women Voters.

Host the North Carolina Environmental Conference in

Continue to conduct an aggressive Ambassador program for
membership retention.

Coordinate ribbon cuttings and grand openings for Chamber
members and provide publicity.

Encourage membership participation in Worksite Solutions
program and other affinity programs which can save money
or time for members.

Host periodic new member orientations to provide
information on the Chamber and to encourage involvement.

Host an annual planning retreat to review the Chamber’s
Strategic Plan with input from leadership and membership.

Train future community leaders through the Leadership
Institute Network. Seek ways to expand actual leadership
