Citizens of Greenville and Pitt County have access to high quality, convenient health services through University Health Systems of Eastern Carolina, one of the state's four academic teaching centers.

University Health Systems includes Pitt County Memorial Hospital, other community hospitals, physician practices, home health and other independently operated health services.

Most of these facilities and services are situated in or near a 2,000-acre medical park on the western edge of Greenville. The Mental Health Center, Pitt County Health Department and the Walter B. Jones Alcohol & Drug Abuse Center are located near the hospital-medical school complex.
