The Greenville-Pitt County Chamber of Commerce Leadership Institute, presented by Vidant Medical Center, provides selected participants the opportunity to learn about issues facing our community, develop skills needed to enhance leadership strengths, and motivates participants to become involved in leadership roles throughout Greenville and Pitt County. Over the course of eight months, the program delivers a balanced combination of leadership training through a variety of activities and sessions.

The Leadership Institute provides participants with an in-depth look at specific topics of community interest that include, but are not limited to:  city and county government, education, health and human services, arts and culture, law and code enforcement, economic development, and sports and recreation.

Developed by the Chamber to ensure a continuing reservoir of leadership talent for the future, the Leadership Institute consists of one full-day session and one two-hour lunch session each month over an eight-month period (September - April).  To officially kick-off the program each year, participants take part in an overnight retreat in New Bern, NC that is designed to inform, challenge, and motivate each participant to become involved in supporting and directing the future of Pitt County.  Throughout the program, new perspectives for creative leadership are developed with the goal of giving participants the foundation needed to expand their leadership roles in the community.

The Leadership Institute will open your eyes to new challenges and opportunities and the role you can play in shaping the future of our community and region.

Applications are available to download online or may be requested by contacting the Chamber.  Applicants must be employed by a Chamber member to be considered for participation.  Employers (sponsors) may request an application for an employee within their organization.
