The Leadership Institute, a program of the Greenville-Pitt County Chamber of Commerce, develops community-minded business and civic leadership.  This exceptional program is a balanced combination of leadership training and educational experiences; including, presentations, dialogues, a retreat and community project(s) over an eight-month period (September - April).

The Leadership Institute provides participants with an in-depth look at specific topics of community interest, such as city and county government, education, health resources, non-profit organizations, law enforcement and the courts, and the economic diversity of Pitt County.

Developed by the Chamber to ensure a continuing reservoir of leadership talent for the future, the Leadership Institute consists of one full day and a two-hour lunch session each month as well as an overnight retreat, designed to inform, challenge, and motivate leaders to become involved in supporting and directing the future of Pitt County. Through carefully coordinated sessions, participants receive an intensive examination of the Greenville-Pitt area, how it has developed and how it works.  New perspectives for creative leadership are developed with the goal of giving participants the foundation needed to expand their leadership roles in the community.

Whether you have lived in the area for a short time or for decades, the Greenville-Pitt Leadership Institute will open your eyes to new challenges and opportunities and the role you can play in shaping the future of our community and region.

Simply fill out the Leadership Institute application and submit to the Chamber by the due date listed.  Applications may be submitted via mail, e-mail, fax or in person. Applications are available to download online or may be requested by contacting the Chamber. Chamber membership is required to be considered for the Leadership Institute.
