An original masterpiece of the historic Fleming House was created by local artist Richard Wilson and unveiled at the Chamber's annual Special Awards Luncheon.
Originally the home of North Carolina State Senator, James L. Fleming and his wife Loula, the Fleming house is now the home of the Greenville-Pitt County Chamber of Commerce. During Senator Fleming’s active political life, he introduced a bill to establish a state normal school in Eastern North Carolina. Legislation for the school was passed and signed in the Fleming House and East Carolina Teacher Training School was created. The once small teacher college, now East Carolina University, is the state’s third largest university.
Richard Wilson is known as the “Master Pastelist,” by peers. His rendition of the Fleming House, created with pastels is the perfect opportunity to own a piece of Greenville and Pitt County history.
Signed, limited edition prints of this painting are now available for $75. Only 850 prints will be sold. Each Fleming House painting comes with a certificate of authenticity.
